SOLIDS
UCI’s internationally competitive solid rocketry team
OUR STORY!
Our team found its beginnings as a small-scale subteam with a few members within the UCI Rocket Project. In 2022, UCI Rocket Project – Solids was born. Guided by our advisor Prof. Mark Walter, our Solids team dedicates itself to solid propellant-based rocketry. Within a few years, our team has ascended to incredible heights: participating in design reviews with industry professionals, graduating numerous members with rocket certifications, completing many successful static test fires and test launches, and making a name for ourselves through international competitive rocketry in the world-renown Spaceport America Cup.
Our mission is two-fold: to explore the technology and theory of Aerospace through international competitive rocketry and to leave a legacy of stable soaring rockets for the forthcoming Solids Team.

Product Discounts and Donations
Manufacturing multiple level 1 to level 3 rockets and competing in international competitions takes significant resources. Discounts or donations on products significantly reduce the costs of fabrication and assembly of our internationally competing solid rockets.
Each and every donation, no matter how large or small, makes a huge difference for our team and propels us to new heights!

Guidance and Mentorship
We need insight from industry professionals to critique designs, manufacturability, material choice, and other technical or operative discretionary issues. This can be found through assisting our preliminary design reviews, critical design reviews, or safety checks of our lab which provide invaluable insights into problems and solutions we may have never thought of before!
